AI-MATTERS had an outstanding participation in Advanced Factories Barcelona 2026, one of the main European meetings on Industry 4.0, automation and technological innovation, reaffirming its role as a strategic initiative to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in the European industrial sector.

The event brought together more than 33,000 professionals, 680 exhibiting companies and more than 150 entities from the industrial and technological ecosystem, consolidating itself as a key space for sharing knowledge, generating collaborations and presenting advances in digitalization, automation and industrial sustainability.

One of the most relevant moments was the session “AI Continent: European Strategy and Key Resources to Boost AI“, held on May 5, in which Tecnalia participated together with other actors of the European artificial intelligence ecosystem. The session addressed key aspects such as the European AI strategy, the new regulatory framework promoted by the European Union and the opportunities for fostering industrial innovation based on artificial intelligence.

One of the central blocks was dedicated to Test and Experimentation Infrastructures (TEFs), where AI-MATTERS, together with Agrofood TEF and CitCom TEF, highlighted the importance of having real validation environments for companies to test, experiment and accelerate the adoption of AI solutions in the industry.

In addition, the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) had its own stand at the fair from which it showcased its technological capabilities and strategic projects linked to digital and industrial transformation. Within the official agenda of the event, ITA also offered a talk aimed at companies to present the AI-MATTERS project and the opportunities it offers to boost the adoption of artificial intelligence in manufacturing environments.

The Industry 4.0 Congress also addressed issues related to automation, systems integration, advanced manufacturing, industrial cybersecurity and sustainability, areas aligned with AI-MATTERS’ objectives to drive a more competitive, connected and sustainable industry.

With this participation, AI-MATTERS continues to consolidate its position as a strategic player in the deployment and validation of artificial intelligence solutions for the European industry.
