AI-MATTERS, a step forward toward the future of industry within The Proactive Factory, TECNALIA’s vision for the Intelligent Industry of the future.
At TECNALIA, we believe that the future of industry is not just automation, but proactive intelligence. An environment where technology not only executes, but learns, predicts, and acts autonomously. Where data flows in real time, decisions are made before problems arise, and humans become the drivers of change.
During the BIEMH trade fair, the AI-MATTERS project strengthened its position as a benchmark in artificial intelligence applied to industrial manufacturing. At TECNALIA’s stand, strategically located next to AFM’s, technical demonstrations of its most advanced solutions were carried out, showing live the potential of AI in real industrial environments.
While TECNALIA’s space allowed for deeper exploration of the project’s technological developments, the AFM stand hosted an exhibition dedicated to AI-MATTERS, where the project, its objectives, and its application opportunities were presented. This dual presence generated strong interest among visitors, who were able to experience firsthand the opportunities offered by the project.
The demonstrations, conducted with real equipment and operational environments, showcased AI-MATTERS’ ability to solve key challenges.

Watch & Work

Watch&Work is a technological asset developed by TECNALIA over several years. Its technologies bring together a set of tools that enable the planning and execution of robotic trajectories in real time based on 3D acquisitions.
This robotic cell, equipped with Watch&Work technologies, offers great flexibility to adapt to different customer needs and various industrial processes, also facilitating fast and reliable validation of the technology’s application in real cases.
IWELD – Intelligent Welding and Autonomous Additive Manufacturing

iWeld is a solution developed by TECNALIA that integrates robotics, advanced monitoring, and intelligent software to automate welding processes (arc welding, laser, TIG, plasma) and metal additive manufacturing. It enables the execution of welding and material deposition operations autonomously, with real-time control and minimal human intervention, improving quality, productivity, and reducing dependence on qualified personnel in demanding industrial sectors.
iWeld acts as an automated welding and additive manufacturing platform (DED-ARC/WAAM) adaptable to industrial production lines.
Cable Robots for Advanced Manufacturing: Precision, Safety, and Scalability

Our cable-driven robotic systems offer an advanced solution for handling heavy components in demanding industrial environments. Designed for precision, safety, and flexibility, they operate without structural modifications. With up to 8 tons of load capacity (synchronized with a crane), 6 degrees of freedom and 50% higher precision, they are ideal for fuselages, ship hulls, wind turbines, and large panels. The mobile platform integrates control, power, air supply, and communications. Its reconfigurable grippers —camera, rotating clamps, brakes— allow safe handling of delicate components. Automatic or manual operation is available through a mobile interface, with semi-automatic alignment and full control.
